Snow, skiing, snowshoeing, and dog sledding

Snow in the Auvergne and skiing on the Massif du Sancy : between Super Besse and Mont Dore, you can ski, go snowshoeing, take a dog sled trip, go tobogganing, and enjoy a snowball fight! Lire la suite

Downhill skiing: pistes are at Super Besse (29km) or Chastreix Sancy (30km), a little ski resort with a family atmosphere like Les Chalets de l’Eau Verte – the family will love it! You can have lessons with the Ecole de Ski Française (French Ski School) and there is a toboggan run available.

Cross-country skiing : a range of possibilities, depending on what you want. If there is enough snowfall, you can go cross-country skiing around the chalets along the hiking trails.

Otherwise, the trails are at Picherande (20km), with a toboggan run available

Snowshoeing: you can go out on snowshoes anywhere that snow has fallen. The hiking trails around the chalets are recommended – take a different look at the countryside.

You can also go for guided trips on the Massif du Sancy.

Dog sleds: an unforgettable experience – at Chastreix, after a short introduction to the harness, go and explore the Massif du Sancy on your sled.
